Marquee sizes guide: which pop-up gazebo do you need?
Choosing a marquee size comes down to three things: the space you are allowed, what has to fit underneath, and how you will carry it. Here is how the four standard sizes compare.

The four standard sizes
| Size | Footprint | Best for | Printed, delivered |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 × 2 m | 4 m² | Footpaths, indoor expos, a single table | $890 |
| 3 × 3 m | 9 m² | Standard market stall, info tent, small team bench | $1,032 |
| 4.5 × 3 m | 13.5 m² | Food stalls, club tents, two tables side by side | $1,417 |
| 6 × 3 m | 18 m² | Sports clubs, school fetes, long serving counters | $1,773 |
Start with your site rules
Most Australian markets allocate a 3 × 3 m site, and many will not let a bigger gazebo overhang the aisle. School fetes and sports grounds are more flexible but may limit the number of pegs or require weights. Check the stallholder guide before you buy: if the rule says 3 × 3, a 3 × 3 m printed marquee is the safe choice.
Work out what fits underneath
A standard 6 ft trestle table is 1.8 m long. Under a 3 × 3 m marquee you can fit one table across the front with room for one or two people and a few boxes behind. A 6 × 3 m fits two or three tables in a row, ideal for a canteen, a sausage sizzle line or a sports team with an esky, physio table and kit bags. For seated guests, allow roughly one square metre per person standing or two per person seated.
Think about carrying and set-up
Larger frames are heavier. A 3 × 3 m is a comfortable two-person set-up and fits in most car boots. A 6 × 3 m frame is long and heavy, so a wheeled carry bag ($114 for the 6 × 3) is worth adding. If the marquee goes up every weekend, the 50 mm luxury frame is stronger and lasts longer.
Walls and awnings
A full back wall blocks wind and gives you a second billboard behind the stall. Side walls add shade and privacy. A front awning (on 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 frames) extends shade over your customers. See all the prices on our printed marquees page.
Weights are not optional
A gust can lift an unweighted marquee in seconds. Most councils and markets ask for at least 10 kg per leg. Sandbags, water bags or ropes and pegs on grass all work; use them every time.

- Café or coffee cart: 2 × 2 m, or a market umbrella.
- Sports club: 6 × 3 m luxury kit.
- School fete info tent: 3 × 3 m, plus a 6 × 3 m for the canteen.
